IT STARTED, QUITE SIMPLY, LIKE THIS...

Our journey began in 1961 in Amritsar, India, where food was more than a meal — it was family, tradition, and community. Those values travelled with us to Canada, and in 2011, Desi Tadka Catering opened its first kitchen in Brampton, introducing Canadians to authentic North Indian flavours made with love and heritage.

 

As the years passed, our passion for sharing home-style Indian food only grew stronger. In 2018, we launched our Tiffin Service, bringing fresh, homely meals to students, professionals, and families craving real Indian comfort food every day. What began as a small community service soon became a trusted name for quality and authenticity.

 

Building on that success, we opened our Desi tadka main dine-in restaurant in Bells Corners, Ottawa, where guests can experience the warmth of Indian hospitality and traditional flavours in a modern, welcoming setting. From there, our story continued with the launch of Desi Tadka Express, a fast, fresh takeout concept built for today’s busy lifestyle — without ever compromising authenticity.

 

Through every chapter — from catering to tiffin, dine-in, and takeout — our mission has stayed the same: to serve food that feels like home. Every dish still carries that Amritsari soul — handcrafted, flavourful, and made with the belief that good food connects people across cultures and generations.
